Traffic Tickets & Licensing

Defence for traffic tickets, violation tickets and driver licensing issues.

When a Ticket Deserves a Closer Look

A traffic ticket may seem straightforward, but the consequences can extend well beyond the fine itself. Depending on the allegation, a conviction may affect a person’s driving record, insurance costs, employment, commercial driving responsibilities, or ability to remain licensed. What appears minor in the moment can become a larger issue over time, particularly where driving is closely tied to work or daily responsibilities.

Paying a ticket can amount to accepting the allegation. Before doing so, it may be worth understanding the evidence, the possible consequences, and whether there is a reasonable basis to dispute the matter.

Reviewing the Matter Properly

Jensen Law assists clients in disputing traffic and other violation tickets and in addressing related licensing issues.

That may include obtaining disclosure, reviewing the evidence, identifying technical issues, attending court, negotiating with the prosecution, or proceeding to trial. Even a relatively simple traffic allegation still has to be proven.

Our role is to assess whether a dispute should proceed, explain the process clearly, and deal with the matter in a way that reflects both the legal issues and the client’s broader circumstances.

More Than a Fine

For some people, a traffic matter is not simply about paying a penalty and moving on. It may affect insurance premiums, commercial driving responsibilities, licensing concerns, or a record that already contains prior issues.

We approach these files with the same practical judgment we bring to the rest of our criminal and regulatory work.

Where a trial is justified, we are prepared to advance it properly. Where negotiation or a more measured resolution makes sense, we explain that plainly and work toward the best practical result.
